Sidearm Throw Windup and Delivery for Huge Clubhead Speed Gains

A name you’re going to be hearing a lot of in the next few years is Matthew Wolf. Matt helped Oklahoma State to the NCAA Championship his freshman year after multiple state titles in California.

I’ve known Matt since he was around 10. He’s a generational player. Future major winner. The next Jordan Spieth. With the savvy and guts of Brooks Koepka. And he has quite an unorthodox swing.

Wolf developed this unusual style through high school and it’s already paying huge dividends, as he made the cut in the Phoenix Open as a 19 year old amateur. He turned pro in June of 2019.

His style of swing isn’t without precedent. And there are really good biomechanical reasons it not only works – but is insanely powerful.

I go into detail in my latest Youtube video:

  • He was one bad round away from running away with the tournament at Mayakoba this weekend. I really enjoy watching him hit the ball. His clubhead acceleration through the ball is pretty remarkable.

Tried the swing. When it worked it was very good but when it went bad it was terrible.
